Ely Area Golf Foundation
Ely Area Golf Foundation Board was organized and incorporated in 2004. Its main objective is to enhance the quality of life through the support of golf as a recreational activity for Ely area citizens and visitors. Another main objective is the promotion of golf and the improvement and enhancement of the Ely Public Golf Course. The Foundation operates exclusively for charitable purposes making distributions to further these objectives.
Presently, the Board consists of six Ely Golf Club members who meet to review investments, distribute any applicable monies to the Club or its activities with the purpose of perpetuation the sport of golf. The officers are Barb Soderberg (President), Steve Hall, Ruth Logar, Kurt Soderberg, Gary Klug and Ely Golf Board Representative Frank Guldbrandsen.
In the Ely Golf Clubhouse, a wall is devoted to those who have so generously donated to the Foundation. There are three levels of donations: gold, silver, and bronze. Gold donors have donated $10,000 or more. Silver donors have donated $5,000 to $9,999. Bronze donors have donated $1,000 to $4,999. Of course, donations can be in any amount. When a donor reaches one of the levels, a plaque is placed on the wall designating the donor and the purpose of the donation. Often, donations are made in memory or in honor of a loved one or simply just because of the love of golf and the Ely Golf Course.
Donations in any amount can be directed to the Ely Golf Foundation, PO Box 507, Ely, MN 55731. For further information, please contact the clubhouse at 218-365-5932. Thank you for thinking of us and your donation!
